Gallop races have been taking place in Cologne since 1898. With new pop-up sprinklers Perrot Regnerbau Calw GmbH provides a reliable and uniform irrigation of the grass and sand tracks in the future. The new TRITON pop-up sprinklers have been available on the market only since January 2017 and in the future they will provide a reliable and uniform irrigation of Cologne racing association’s grass and sand tracks. Not only does the newly developed impact sprinkler have an integrated valve, but it is also equipped with a decoder within the housing. In conjunction with the PERROT decoder system “Satellite”, the sprinklers can be controlled highly accurately and fully automatically on demand. From experience, impact sprinklers reach the longest lifespan amongst all drive systems. Service lives of over 20 years are rather the rule than the exception. For this very reason the new sprinkler generation has been designed even more maintenance-friendly. The housing lid can now be dismantled in a second without any tools.
A special service shaft allows an easy access to solenoid coil and decoder. Particular sand pockets in the bottom of the housing and the stainless steel coated riser enable a more reliable opening and closing also under adverse conditions. The high precipitation uniformity gives grounds to expect a particularly homogeneous soil density – as significant quality factor for a horse race track. (Stadiaworld, 18.09.2017)
