Rhenac GreenTec AG

RHENAC GreenTec AG from Hennef, Germany, develops and produces innovative LED plant lighting systems with scientific support for a wide range of applications. These range in use from plant research and production (for example, in biomass production, indoor farming and urban farming) to lighting systems for sports turf. The service includes the project consultation, planning, and development, as well as the production and planning of the lighting system, and the commissioning on site.

In modern football stadiums, a regular supply of additional light is essential for maintaining the quality of the pitch. An intact turf not only minimises the risk of injury, but also influences the passing accuracy, ball speed and vertical jump of the players. To optimise the maintenance of the turf, RHENAC GreenTec AG has developed the Complete Light Spectrum (CLS) technology, which is marketed under the RHENAC Sports LED brand. It is the only lighting technology in the world that can form a flexible light spectrum for sports turf and even replicate sunlight.

The innovative turf lighting systems, which are already in use in German and other international stadiums, were developed by RHENAC GreenTec AG with scientific support from the Greenhouse Laboratory Centre at the Weihenstephan Science Centre at the Technical University of Munich. Since 2013, the GLC has been investigating the interactions of different light sources on turf species. The resulting CLS lighting technology enables individual compositions of different light spectra, so that they can be adapted not only to the different physiological phases of turf growth, but also to the changing climate conditions.

The fully automatic R-BL-1750 turf lighting system was commissioned in the VELTINS Arena of FC Schalke 04 in the Spring of 2022. The R-BL-1750 can supply year-round CLS LED growth light to the football turf for regeneration. If required, irrigation and nutrient supply are also possible. You can find more information here:
